Professional Development

Our staff and educators can support teachers with insight on local place-based learning, answering questions such as:

  • Who were the Indigenous People who lived in the central Connecticut River valley? What Algonquin words and place-names still exist around us today?
  • Who were some of the important colonial and Early American tradesmen and crafters in the greater Hartford area?
  • What was the local history of African (and Indigenous) slavery in central Connecticut?
  • What research resources are available online or in the greater Hartford area to support student learning?

Fees start at $30 per person for a 2 hour session. Minimum of $300. Contact us to discuss your needs.
